I like using Scattering stroke to counter and then not have to worry about tapping out to play a creature next turn. Painter's Servant for blue is great with both Spell Syphon and Faerie Swarm. I also like Repel Intruders and it helps set up AEthertow with conspire. The deck is mostly focused on bounce (because it is cheap) to delay until Guile or a huge Faerie Swarm.

Suggestions? Is blue control too awful in block to even try to make it work?

Can it beat Faeries? Also, you need at least 4 more land.

I don't know if it can beat faeries. I haven't tested it against a good fae deck yet.

no, it can't beat faeries. basically, faeries is the best blue control deck that you can build in type 2 or block. the hate doesn't hold it back at all, even raking canopy. when they're ready they'll just bounce canopy and win. all other hosers get thoughtseized or countered very often.

the way to beat faeries is with an agressive curve, preferrably backed by some hate (green).

take it from the guy who's been playing teachings for awhile now. unless the metagame reacts much more harshly against faeries than it currently is, with infinite merfolk, kithkin, elves, etc, i'm fairly sure faeries is just the best deck by far, and far superior to all the real blue decks that i want to be better.

Is there a way to make this more competitive against faeries? The more I play this, the more I like it, so I'd like to find a way to make it do well.

Also, I can never test it against faeries because everyone else always wants to test their other decks as well, so it is hard for me to get an idea of what this deck needs.

Tested against faeries. Changed the deck list and sideboard. Tested again. Seems hopeless. Screw it.

just so you know, jesse put together a faerie deck (for type 2) which chuck has at the moment. i'll try to remember to print off a block faeries list so if you want we can turn it into the block version and test sometime.

i had a similar idea to this and it didnt beat anything...i didnt really try very hard on the deck building portion of testing but idk it didnt do well

I worked on this quite a bit, and the latest version runs well against most decks but falls to Bitterblossom over and over again.

I still want to put it together. I think there is an answer I just haven't found yet.

faeries is like the new psychatog. everybody wants to play it. i'm guessing guile has just lost his appeal cause no one plays sonicboom anymore. faeries is just that good. i'm regretting ever having disasembled my faeries. if you put your mind into more, i'm sure you can find a way to make it work. you might wanna consider something to completely remove the bitterblossoms. maybe splashing green for krosan grip. you could also use it to add in mystic snake or something.

honestly, i think theirs only 2 decks right now that have the chance. LD is starting to work better. the guy got 5th with his R/G LD and was up against alot of faeries. that and javier's damn Emo.dec.

rumor has it, the john ACTUALLY PLAYED MAGIC last wednesday at todd's. but it's even juicier, cuz he was even in the tournament!

The goal is to bounce and counter Bitterblossoms and other nastiness until Oona gives me faeries of my own, or until faerie swarm does its job. It still needs work.

I am clueless when it comes to the sideboard on this. Consign to dream is great when I put it in against elementals. Inquisitor's snare has been good against elementals as well. But what about faeries? What about faeries?!

This deck made the finals of a Grand Prix Trial, where it lost to....yup, Faeries.

If you're dead set on playing counterspells, just play waffle-taco control or faeries, they're both fairly good (i say fairly because i don't think the waffle taco build is extremely good.)
