Very interesting build! I might have to try it out sometime. It looks powerful.

Well what do you know! This thread was at the bottom and now it's on top! What do you all think about a couple of Elvish Champion in the SB if this deck gets popular?

Re: Post SoA: Gx Elves
this deck looks really dated, and it plays 0 CC and 0 mutavault, both of which have tested really well for me.

My board:
4 Bitterblossom
3 Primal Command
2 Shriekmaw
4 Kitchen Finks
2 Mind Shatter
supposedly Puppetteer Clique is sick. Not sure if Bitterblossom is better than Squall Line, but I would guess so.

Re: Post SoA: Gx Elves
Tell me if I'm wrong but isn't Chameleon Colossus one of the most important creatures in the deck? If so, isn't it important to drop a CC and ramp up mana faster than your opponent? The reason I'm asking this is I think Farhaven Elf is superior to Civic Wayfinder because he can ramp faster. So he's a 1/1 instead of a 2/2 like Civic. Who cares! I think it's more important to have the bigger CC. That's the change I'm proposing. Let me know what you guys think.

Re: Post SoA: Gx Elves
in an agressive deck, the +1/+1 matters a lot more than it would in a big mana deck. on top of that, you only play 23 lands, so a lot of times you'll just play the land immediately. that makes it not much of a disadvantage, if any, that you get the land in your hand instead of cipt.
you also don't always wanna go for CC on turn 3. sometimes there are better things to do, sometimes you don't draw it. it just depends.
i was thinking you could cut the urborg if you are really scared of magus of the moon since there aren't that many cards that require BB. yes it's sort of a risk but if you are really that paranoid of magus it could be an option. i don't think i'd do it though.
i played faeries against sam last night, and faeries seemed to have the advantage game 1 but be much worse in games 2-3. the only sideboard card i really ever wanted to draw was razormane masticore. i usually won when he stuck and lost when he didn't. i also thought persusasion might be a good answer to chameleon colossus. so maybe i will board like 4 masticore and 2 persuasion in the faerie board. it's an interesting note that the mind shatters i had in the elves sideboard might be a good answer to masticore (keep them from upkeeping it, they have to tap out for 'core usually. i was bringing them anyway, but they might be even better than i thought. sam and i also thought slaughter pact might have some merit since it kills masticore. he wants to try it main but i think it's pretty much strictly a sideboard card. it's probably a tradeoff between incremental blight and slaughter pact, but i think pact is getting more attractive to me. i would probably cut 2 finks to make room. you might be able to just cut all 4 finks and play both, but i think finks have a lot of utility so i wouldn't. like, i think they are better than wayfinder against faeries. but maybe not so much better than they warrant space.
proposed new board:
3 Primal Command
2 Shriekmaw
2 Mind Shatter
4 Betterblossom
2 Kitchen Finks/Incremental Blight
2 Slaughter Pact

Re: Post SoA: Gx Elves
Ben, What do you think about Shuuhei's list? He has no CC but ups the Profane and Garruk count. One thing that is good about his list is that Mindshatter becomes more powerful as you will more consistently draw Garruk to power out a big Shatter. Profane is the nuts and most of the time it ends games. I just wonder how well he'd do vs. Gindy's list? I wonder if I should try his list for Wed and Thur to find out or just to get a feel for it? Maybe Gindy's list is not the best. Also, I'm figuring that Elves will be the new most played deck so I want to prepare for the mirror match. The other matchups I really need to practice against are Reveillark and Merfolk.

Re: Post SoA: Gx Elves
I think that Chameleon Colossus is the nuts, really important in the mirror, and there's really no reason not to play it. Redundant Profane Commands and Garruks are worse anyway, and sometimes not even good. They are both generally either amazing or terrible. If anything, I might want to find room for a 4th CC. Agree about needing to test the mirror match, and especially find the right way to board it. Merfolk seems like a good matchup with CC in the deck, Reveillark seems ok with as much discard as we have but not exciting. Don't kill Lord of Atlantis.
Sam tested Slaughter Pacts, and I think he was happy with 3 Pact 1 Terror (main).

Re: Post SoA: Gx Elves
yeah im happy slaughter pacts main because they are better in a lot of situations, terror is better EOT so that might bring the count to 2-2

Re: Post SoA: Gx Elves
ALSO.. as of now i think the correct sideboard for this deck is..
4 shreikmaw
3 mind shatter
3 primal command
4 bitterblossom
1 razormane masitcore (need to test this actually)
finks is pointless because most of the time you cannot board out your civic wayfinders, and you have 3 primal command which may warrant 1 finks in the sb, but the only time i would want to tutor for it im going to lose anyways....

Re: Post SoA: Gx Elves
Sudden Spoiling comes up every now and then, especially with MBC because CC is such a problem. The card has potential and is very unexpected. We should test it.

Re: Post SoA: Gx Elves
I also think you don't want that many Terror effects postboard, so I still think a couple of Shriekmaws should be something else. Incremental Blight is better than Shriekmaws 3 and 4, for instance.

Elves! by islands from mtg.com
4 Windbrisk Heights
3 Mosswort Bridge
4 Brushland
6 Forest
2 Reflecting Pool
1 Wooded Bastion
4 Heritage Druid
4 Nettle Sentinel
4 Llanowar Elves
4 Devoted Druid
4 Wolf-Skull Shaman
4 Wren's Run Vanquisher
3 Imperious Perfect
1 Regal Force
4 Gilt Leaf Ambush
4 Hunting Triad
4 Coat of Arms
SB:
3 Cloudthresher
3 Gaddock Teeg
3 Chameleon Colossus
2 Primal Command
2 Raking Canopy
2 (don't know)
It's quite possible that Coat is the way to go with Elves!, instead of Regal Force. I think a 3/2 split could be reasonable too. He said he didn't have much trouble against Infest so I'd look into this. RW Lark is a problem though, and maybe could use a little something else against RDW.
