What I threw together for the new extended (metagame: goblins, counter-top, Rg burn, affinity, who knows?)

3 Mistbind Clique
1 Venser, Shaper Savant
4 Tarmogoyf
3 Vedalken Shackles
4 Ancestral Visions
3 Spell Snare

3 Sower of Temptation
3 Ancient Grudge
3 Sphere of Law

Possible additions:
Damnation
Dark Confidant

The synergy of Riptide Lab and Faerie Wizards is just broken. I haven't played a game with this yet, but I'm interested in it.

I lost vs. a straight Mono U version last season so I do believe one with Bitterblossom would be even better.

What's the point of cutting Counterspell yet still thinking Goblins is a deck and splashing for cards that are going to rotate? Is this for new Extended as in after rotation or new Extended as in right now?

I know your answer, I just need you get into the habit of not listing Odyssey cards in your decklists.

Heh, oops. I got the maindeck legal though I think.

I still don't see why Piledriver and Warchief won't make Goblins a real deck.

I just realized that a Shackles+4 Islands+2 open keeps Swans from winning. Not a huge deal but still.

It seems to me that you can just insert a T2 Fae list and add Shackles. Tempo, counter, kill and take over all their shit. Hell, I bet you could put together a good Legacy Fae deck because of their retardness. Razz

I checked Deckcheck, people already have Smile
Bitterblossom is not as retarded in other formats, but Spellstutter Sprite is roughly the best 2cc hard counter in EXT. Just like in Standard, Faeries is best vs Control and Combo; I'd say it's not an unreasonable deck. It should definitely play Mana Leak though; I just forgot about the card.

I think Ninja is actually too weak against the format as a whole. It's nice to return a Spellstutter and draw a card for 2 mana, but his lack of evasion and small size probably make him not worth it. It's certainly nice against decks without creatures though. Also, you have white and red duals without any cards of those colors...

You need to solve the Tron matchup. Ghost Quarters and Extirpates are probably a step in the right direction, as well as Annuls and probably Stifles, though that card is a little narrow. Other blue decks get to play Explosives to deal with Decree, which is kinda nice.
